Alderpost Bakehouse

Three doors, two markets, one van

Where the bread goes.

The bakehouse counter is the only place with everything on it. The markets get what fits in the crates, and the van leaves at seven.

Wholesale

We deliver to fourteen kitchens and two grocers on a Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday round that leaves the bakehouse at 07:00 and is finished by 10:30. Minimum order is twelve loaves a drop, which is roughly the point at which the van makes sense.

Standing orders close at 18:00 on Sunday for the week that follows. Changes inside that window are fine by phone if we have not already milled for them — call, do not email, after Sunday evening.

Invoicing. Monthly, on the last working day, net fourteen days. Crates are ours and we count them; a missing crate is billed at $18 after the second round it does not come back on.

To start an account, email [email protected] with the days you want, the quantities you think you need, and the name of the person who will be at the door at seven in the morning. We will suggest you start lower than you asked for, and we are usually right.

Getting here

118 Cold Spring Road is the grey building with a loading door and no sign. The counter is inside that door, on the left, past the flour pallets. There is parking for four cars in the yard and more along the road after eight.

The building is level from the yard to the counter with no step. The bathroom is not public.

We are closed on the last full week of August and between Christmas and the second of January. Both closures are posted on the door a month ahead.
